Getting Started
Welcome to the FRST Computer BBS. This board is a filesystem -- you
mount it and read and write files. There's no app to install and no
account required to look around.
== Ways to connect ==
9P (the real thing -- mount it as a filesystem)
With plan9port on Unix/macOS, or natively on Plan 9 / 9front:
9p -a 'tcp!bbs.frstcomputer.net!9777' ls /
9p -a 'tcp!bbs.frstcomputer.net!9777' read /rooms/lobby
Or mount it and use ls/cat/echo like any other files.
gopher
Any gopher client, or a browser with a gopher proxy:
gopher://bbs.frstcomputer.net
finger
A quick look at the board and who's online:

web
A small landing page in any browser:

chat
Live chat with other connected users, over 9P:
read /chat/lobby (streams messages as they arrive)
write /chat/post (send a message)
== Reading the board ==
/rooms/<room> a message board -- each file is one message
/wiki documentation (this page lives here)
/dropbox downloads and shared files
/games door games (try /games/nehemiah)
/etc board info (boardname, sysop, motd, ...)
Rooms to start with: /rooms/lobby (say hello), /rooms/releases
(new firmware & software, posted here first), and /rooms/support
if you have a question.
== Posting a message ==
Write to the "new" file in any room and the server files it for you:
echo 'From: yourname
Subject: Hello!
My first message.' | 9p -a 'tcp!bbs.frstcomputer.net!9777' write /rooms/lobby/new
That's it -- headers, a blank line, then your text. Introduce
yourself in /rooms/lobby. Real people read this board.
